Unlike other museums which focus on exemplary works, the Self Museum concentrates on entire collections, usually from popular culture.  Our Mission is to preserve the entire collection for future generations.   We do not believe we have the knowledge to know in advance which aspects of the collection will be of most interest to unborn generations.   We like to collect artifacts that describe a person's whole self so far as possible, and not just some of its parts.
